1st Maker Space
1st Maker Space designs, builds, and sustains makerspaces and delivers STEAM enrichment programs. Hands-on, inquiry-based teaching methods are utilized to deliver highly effective lessons in a non-traditional and motivational learning environment. Students use 21st century tools like 3D printers, laser cutters and electronics to solve real problems. 1st Maker Space emphasizes creativity, collaboration and critical thinking.
The Design Bank is a three-dimensional space dedicated to transforming a community through entrepreneurship, people centered innovation, and design. Our expertise in design technology, entrepreneurship and education make the Design Bank a center where like minded professionals, community, residents and guests can come together in hopes to bettering themselves and transforming the future.
DirectEmployers Institute brings learning to life by uniting public and private employers, schools and non-profit organizations that have a passion for creating a diversified workforce for students who are socioeconomically disadvantaged due to underrepresentation or disabilities. We inspire and prepare the next generation of a more diverse global workforce by bringing a simulated workplace environment directly to students in our state-of-the-art, project-based STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Center and through local workplace learning programs.
Innovation, Design, Engineering, Advanced-Manufacturing and Automation
The IDEAA Partnership is a Health & Science Innovations workforce development initiative, and a cross-sector partnership dedicated to the implementation of a comprehensive pipeline that attracts and prepares new talent to meet the needs of employers with engineering, prototyping, and manufacturing operations; through hands-on workshops, courses, certification curriculum, credentialing, project based learning and practice opportunities. Partners include Design Bank, First Maker Space, Maker Youth Foundation, Direct Employers Institute, and CAE-net.com. This initiative is supported by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD) through their Skill Up Indiana! Grant.

We are working on opening additional courses for 2018. We accept requests for delivering our courses to your group or team; please contact us for specific requests.
Please join our waiting list if you are interested in future offerings. Individuals in the waiting list will be given a 10% discount, notified and given priority for new courses when they become available.
You may register for any of the following individual courses; or you may take all 6 core courses to complete our Certificate in Design and Rapid Prototyping. Each course is between 20 and 24 hours that are scheduled across 4 to 6 weeks. These courses are developed in collaboration with employers in Central Indiana.
